There was a post about time of the invasion of Crimea stating that heroin was the number 2 product of Russia. Of course since its illegal its not listed on any official list. Add that to a local story that said one use of the drug triggers addiction and its the fastest growing drug in the Midwest

The Russian mafia is probably the biggest player in transporting Afghan Opium/Heroin to the rest of the world. Afghanistan produces something like 90% of the world’s opium. They have been big players in that racket since the Russian occupation in the 1980’s, if not earlier.
