First, why would a police emergency line ask you to leave a voice message in the first place? No one would want to leave a voice message in a real emergency! Then, the message tells you to hang up and call 9-1-1 after you have already called 9-1-1 in order to get that message.
Meanwhile, four thugs are beating this guy's wife & stepmother. This poor homeowner finally realizes he cannot depend upon 9-1-1 and the police to save them. So, he gets his own gun and shoots one of the intruders and all of the thugs flee the home at that point (see the follow up article here: http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/story/25761883/pasco-deputies-id-last-home-invasion-suspect). The police arrive after the suspects have fled and begin searching for the thugs.
Would you want 9-1-1 protecting you in this situation or would you want to have your own gun? We can see in this instance that the homeowner tried the former solution, but the failure of the 9-1-1 system forced him to employ his own gun.
Another of numerous examples that refute all of these liberal gun control myths. For more on the myth of 9-1-1 protection, please see this excellent article at http://www.thefreemanonline.org/features/just-dial-911-the-myth-of-police-protection/
There’s plenty of precedence that shows that the police are not obligated to assist during the commission of a crime. They are not crime stoppers, they simply clean up and investigate after.
Why anyone would want to live in an anti-gun part of the country/world is beyond my comprehension.
Dial 9-1-1 and die.
Forward this to Michael Bloomberg. /S
This Florida county is PASCO county. They have know about these 9-1-1 problems for months if not a year. NOTHING EVER GETS FIXED, yet we are charged on every phone line, 9-1-1 charges on all phone bills. I live here.
Paging a lawyer that will get residents all this money back on a system that never works.
This New Yorker (I) was in Dallas for an extended stay. Thought there were noises out in the garage. Called 911. Dispatcher, going through her list of things to assist, asked if I had my weapon in hand.
Wha?
Ok. Made sense.
My response to anyone criticizing my right and my decision to carry a firearm is this:
I am the First Responder. I am my OWN 911. And I’m the ONLY First Responder who cares enough about ME and MY life to protect ME and MY life. And I will ALWAYS have a gun, regardless of whatever stupid law some liberal passes to feel good and make other liberals stop wetting themselves.
I taught my wife and children to load, shoot, clear malfunctions and misfeeds if they encounter them, and generally handle firearms competently and safely. As a certified instructor, I’ve also taught many women to do the same. It’s my duty as a man to protect my family, and as an American to teach those who I can to do the same.
NO ONE should be a helpless victim of some one else’s premeditated violence - whether street thug OR government-sanctioned thug.
Pretty much period.
Florida firearm self defense ping
Don’t forget to press 1 for english.
“NO ONE should be a helpless victim of some one elses premeditated violence - whether street thug OR government-sanctioned thug.”
Exactly! And a bullet travels at something on the order of 1,000 ft./sec., while a doughnut muncher’s car probably no better than 25mph, and there’s no telling where it is when you need it. When seconds count, the cops are minutes away ( that is if you are lucky).
My wife and I decided to visit a new gun store last year just for the hell if it. She has never had an interest in guns. While my back was turned, she bought herself a Sig Sauer 9mm. Since that time, she’s purchased three more handguns and become a very good shot.
The best use of 911 is to tell them to come out and pick up the body.
Which can you depend on in an emergency? 911 or 1911??
now you will have liberal prosecutors and out of town carpet bagging lawyers who will want to sue the home owner.
Just wait for the “justice brothers” to put new batteries in the bullhorn.
Nice. Do they make one for .45?
He’d consider it a success.
That first responder concept is great point! Thank you very much.

Oh, now that is SWEET!
“...When seconds count, the cops are minutes away ( that is if you are lucky)...”
And to be fair to cops, they CAN’T be there 24/7. There’s an old joke - “I carry a gun because a cop is too big to fit my holster”.
No one cares about YOUR life like you do; ergo, no one is going to defend it like you will.
And realistically - If you don’t value your own life enough to take steps to protect it, how little do you value someone else’s life (i.e., a cop’s) by requiring him to risk it protecting you, even if he COULD be there?
People who advocate our disarmament need to be shamed into silence at every opportunity.
RE Wife:
Your wife is awesome, and you should kiss her every time she buys another gun, and tell her how wonderful she is.
My wife is an expert shot with the 9mm and a .45. From self-defense ranger (7-12 feet) and out to 50 feet, she’s good with either of those. Not bad with a rifle either.
The kids are just incredible. 20 and 23 year old Young eyes... they’ve been shooting since they were tots.
