What about the United Negro College Fund? The NAACP?
Indeed, to be politically correct it should be the NAAPOC for People of Color. “People of Color” acceptable; “Colored People”, bad. In addition to being born a Native American (hundreds of millions of us were), I’m also a person of color.
Kinda pinkish beige.
Wiki: “The team originated as the Boston Braves, based in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1932. At the time the team played in Braves Field, home of the Boston Braves baseball team. The following year the club moved to Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, whereupon owners changed the team’s name to the Boston Redskins. The Redskins relocated to Washington, D.C.”
There were some cases of football teams duplicating the name of the baseball squad...here it was altered slightly, as they took Redskins rather than Red Sox.
The logo for Notre Dame is a stereotypically dressed Irish leprechaun.
The Minnesota team is named after a pejorative for Norsemen with a stereotypical Norseman as the mascot.
Someone needs to do something about this.
