This equates to "seemingly" normal people with an absolute hatred of Sarah Palin when they have no clue of who she really is or her accomplishments. All they 'know' is that they are supposed to hate her and they do. Like sheep to the slaughter....
Most people are completely clueless when it comes to politics. Sad really.
I worked with a girl - a college graduate (Fordham), good at her job (big 4 accounting firm) - not your stereotypical low info voter.
She said one day, all aflutter, "I've never even met anybody as smart as Barack Obama!"
"Why do you believe he's so smart?" I asked.
"He was like the smartest guy at Harvard!" she informed me.
I just shook my head and walked away. People love not to know.
