Exactly. So there is NO excuse for them not taking action against this.

That's why I've said that the gates of hell are prevailing against the church. They are being completely impotent in the face of blatant and undeniable sin and violation of church teaching. Everything is in place for them to deal with it and they aren't. Therefore, they are by default, condoning it and approving of it.

And I really bear them no grudge per se. There are many genuine Christians in that organization. I would be thrilled to see enough of the life of Christ come back to Rome that the communication to these wildly disobedient parishes would go beyond polite generalized hints. “Homos don’t have to stay homos! They can be saved! What are you doing condoning this junk???”

To be sure, evangelicals can’t be priding themselves either. They could end up in Rome’s shoes right quickly if they ever forget to look to the grace of God. SOME Christians are going to continue to exist, and they comprise that church which won’t succumb to the gates of hell.
