My Dad lived with me for the last 7 years of his life due largely to gradually failing health.Several times during that period we took plane trips...including three or four trips after 9/11.The TSA would invariably wave the wand over that wheelchair bound mid-to-late 80’s white haired man and searched him up and down. They'd even insist that he stand up...which was quite difficult for him.If only his skin was darker and spoke a Middle Eastern language he would have breezed through every time.

It happened to me. Last time I flew through Minneapolis St. Paul airport with my 4 year old daughter, the gal in front of me was in full Hijab with 4 teenage boys and was waved through. My daughter and myself got the full scan and pat down. Oh and the TSA agent was a female wearing her TSA uniform and had her face covered by an Islamic head scarf. No lie.
