However, most sailors (me included) curse in a number of tongues, so why not?
After I left the Navy many long years ago, I spent the next couple of years deprogramming myself. It seems that I had picked up the habit of using a short word for fornication as all parts of speech including punctuation. I'm sure you know what I mean.

I now strive for colorful and expressive instead of common and crude. It works for me.

Yes, I like the military radio code for acronyms, like Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, for example. Do you have a list of favorites?

Similarly, since I am annoyed by words made up by the press such as "Qaeda" and Qatar"...I have started the "Rocklobster's Redneck Guide to Islamic Spelling".

Oh, yes indeed...

My two younger brothers (one AF, one a Jarhead) got off active duty shortly before I and all of us were lingering at home while the job/school start dates arrived. Mom absolutely marveled for years about how our speech had slowed and how carefully we seemed to be choosing and enunciating our words.

Yeah, we'd all heard the story about the minister come to Sunday dinner and "Pass the ****ing butter, please"...and we all knew that Dad (Army Air Corps Major) would not approve a reenactment.

Now? Well, I'm addicted to brevity, but manage to keep the language squared away. Particularly if the kids or grandkids are around.

I'd almost forgotten how those two year-olds pick up everything they hear....
