Well, temperatures at that depth would not allow for liquid water, so am I to assume they are talking about steam mixed with melted rock?
We are talking about the upper mantle at a depth of 400 miles...
I am betting they find the Malaysian airliner down there as well, sounds nearly as plausible..imo
Just questioning the idea that such a vast quantity of water could stay penned up in perpetuity while mixed with quasi-molten or molten rock and that it is measurable with any degree of accuracy or that it is the water source for our oceans.
