I don’t want to hear one word more of your opinion or your myriad of problems with US Immigration Law, or any other of your rhetorical rabbit trails, until LONG after you have shut up, and confined your damn flying coat tails to the time out corner long enough for you to LEARN TO FOCUS, on the one and single matter at hand; border security now! Period.
No more rattling in the wind about your “reform”, nor your musings on immigration, nor your elaborate description of the problems, but just one thing— get us an expedited armed wall NOW, fit to stop dead this invasion! Enough!
Circling the problem with vacuous verbage backed up by squat is burning daylight, solves nothing, stalls action with blabbery and frankly aids and comforts illegal aliens crossing our southern border with the force of an enemy invasion.
Otherwise, come down to south Texas and stand at the border spewing your arid yakking to Texans and border patrol boys, exhausted in the sun from the sheer madness that you can’t seem to grip. Action, Rand, not political arts and crafts.

The Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA), Pub.L. 99–603, 100 Stat. 3445, enacted November 6, 1986, also known as the Simpson-Mazzoli Act, is an Act of Congress which reformed United States immigration law. The act required employers to attest to their employees’ immigration status; made it illegal to knowingly hire or recruit illegal immigrants; legalized certain seasonal agricultural illegal immigrants, and; legalized illegal immigrants who entered the United States before January 1, 1982 and had resided there continuously with the penalty of a fine, back taxes due, and admission of guilt; candidates were required to prove that they were not guilty of crimes, that they were in the country before January 1, 1982, and that they possessed minimal knowledge about U.S. history, government, and the English language.
About *******three million******** illegal immigrants were granted legal status through this act.
OK. What do guys like Paul admit that we have in numbers of illegals now? 12 million? In fact it’s *at least* double that now. So we’ve got nearly ten illegals in 2014 for every one we had in 1986.

What’s going to happen once 20-30 million new Democrats are given amnesty?
When our children and grandchildren are middle-aged, when they face yet another liberal/libertarian party arguing for yet another amnesty—excuse me: “comprehensive immigration reform”—for 50-60 million illegals? What happens then?

Since Obama can do all this damage without Congress, can’t Congress enact border security without Obama?

Sorry, but “Immigration Reform” means ONE THING today, and that is Amnesty (in some form).
We don’t need “Immigration Reform”, we had it in 1986 - the laws we need for ENFORCEMENT were passed back then.
JUST ENFORCE THOSE LAWS. That is all that is necessary.
Well border security is a start and then we need to try to induce as many as possible to self deport through strict enforcement of immigration laws. Plus deport the ones we catch.
