My wife and I have toured Utah many times in the last ten or more years. It has to be the all-around most scenic state in the country. A few years ago I asked my wife if she could have a second home anywhere in the country (we live in Wisconsin), where would she have it. She said outside Moab.
Consider yourself lucky. One of my step-daughters is very liberal. I have to keep silent whenever she visits and starts blathering her liberal bs. I have to bite my tongue because she has stopped her own mother-in-law from seeing her grandchildren because of something she, her mother-in-law, said that she didn’t like. I don’t want my wife to not see her grandchildren because of something I said. So I have to wait about fifteen years before I can start retorting. I hope I’m still alive, because she’s going to hear plenty.
Try repeating everything she says like you are a robot.
Oh, indeed it is gorgeous. And some of the most beautiful parts have no people within 50 miles. While Alaska is the number one place to get lost forever, Utah brings in a close second.
But you can well imagine that urbanites, used to cacophony and crowds, live entertainment and excitement, would be bored to tears there. It is for people who appreciate wilderness.
I’m biding my time. She’s a very nice person, but she doesn’t blanch at repeating liberal talking points in front of my wife and me. And then she was upset one time when at a restaurant her sister’s father-in-law said some nasty things about Bill Clinton. Like I said, I’m biding my time.
