Since Iraq is descending into chaos, it's worth looking at the discussion of the SOF agreement that never was: Romney: So, you didn't want a status of forces agreement?
working so cannot listen but I bet it’s priceless.
Obama talks around the point with his usual non-statements.
I’ve never head anyone speak with so many meaningless words as this man.
Truly, Obama proving himself an ignorant of the world environment. Everything he touches evil grows.
Sadly, expecting a firm set of principles from Romney is a hugh miscalculation.
Furthermore, he is the worst person to represent our side since depending on the situation, his policy positions are like a weather-vane.
The thing about Romney and national defense and foreign affairs, is that he has no personal interest in it, whatever he says, whether good or bad, is just something that his advisers issue for him.
His dad was laughed out of the presidential race of 1968 for claiming the military had “brainwashed” him on Vietnam, and while campaigning to be commander in Chief, Mitt was evading the draft and living in France with a deferment issued by Mormon headquarters (Mormonism at the time issued their own deferments to the draft board, but blacks were excluded from it by the Mormons).
Mitt actually left the GOP when Reagan took over.
Romney tries to re-emerge as force in GOP politics - FR, via AP, 2014 June 12
Apparently he doesn't think he's done enough damage...
Remember that before switching back to the republican party after Reagan/Bush were gone, that Romney had become a supporter for democrats, and fund raised for at least one and donated to others, and fund raised for Planned Parenthood.
He even voted for Tsongas.
Baldwin said that Tsongas wasnt Romneys only preferred Democrat.
Romney contributed to three Democrats in the 1992 primary. He gave $250 to New Hampshire congressional candidate Richard Swett, $250 to New York congressional candidate John Lafalce and $1,000 to Utah U.S. Senate candidate Doug Anderson, Baldwin said.
Indeed, there is no record of Romney contributing to any Republican candidates until he started preparing for his U.S. Senate run in Massachusetts in 1994, the race for which he switched to the GOP in order to run against Ted Kennedy. In fact, from July 1989 until October 1993, political contributions by Romney went only to Democrats, Baldwin said.
The financial records verify Baldwins claims.
An FEC campaign finance report lists Romneys contributions from 1992 through 2010. The report shows that once Romney began seeking office as a Republican, his contributions shifted to Republicans.
Here is another.
CNN Report excerpt:
Has anyone wondered why Mitt Romney didnt run for a second term as Governor of Massachusetts? I have.
So, why didnt Mitt Romney run for a second term as governor of Massachusetts?
He would have lost. And, not just lost by a little. He would have been creamed.
Romney won his first term with about 49% of the vote. After 4 years in office he had a 30% approval rating30%.
You cant blame this on Romney being a Republican. Massachusetts, when it comes to electing governors, is friendly to Republicans. For 16 straight years Massachusetts elected nothing but Republican governors (Weld, Cellucci, Swift, and Romney).
Yet, it only took one Romney term to destroy this Republican popularity streak.”
Status of Forces Agreement. Not signed by Obama.
