Your logic is missing a key point, DL. When it comes to John Q. Citizen, and someone says, "Is he eligible for the Presidency?", then the answer is "He's considered as a natural born citizen." "To consider" means "to think about". "As" means (Webster) "1 to the same degree or amount " In other words, when you think about John Q Citizen think of him in the same degree or amount as you think of a natural born citizen. (He's got the same as they do.) Thank you for finalizing this debate. It's a lock. Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen.

Thank you for finalizing this debate. It's a lock. Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen.

He is the same as makes no difference in this modern very ignorant society. So are Anchor babies and the Children of Birth tourists. As time goes on, I expect the subset of "natural born citizens" to look very much like the world population.

There is no longer a distinction as makes any difference.
