It's interesting that Ted Cruz was born a tri-Citizen. People need to realize that Mr. Cruz obtained his Cuban citizen from his father who had not yet naturalized at the time Ted was born. That is a fact. It is being reported that he officially renounced his Canadian Citizenship today but what about his Cuban Citizenship inherited from his father Rafael? Why is this being ignored by the media as well as his supporters? Don't get me wrong, I like Ted Cruz but this issue needs to be addressed.
“Fly you fools!” -said in the car.
Oh, OP of this thread ate it, but it was a little delayed.
Somebody locked the spare parts for the Debice in the toolbox.

That dang spare parts issue again? Well at least it wasn’t my fault this time.
It wasn’t us!
*crowd cheers*
Here is the relevant definition of citizenship at birth, according to US law:

Thank you. I have tried to explain this to many people here on FR and to several friends who have “dual citizenship” in the US and some other country. This is especially important for such people who are traveling abroad. My advice to them is: “always travel on your US passport”.
Many thanks for that post!
Sums it up neatly.
Wow.. gone for a day and missed all of the action >.< ;^)
Ideas about new ZoT graphics?
Are you saying that if a person was a US citizen and considered a citizen of another country by the other country’s law (held under the laws of that second country), that you would be OK with that person as POTUS?
That sounds absurd to me....
What if this same person did not denounce his citizenship with the second country? Are you OK with that person being POTUS?
Fact; people who have an Irish born grandparents or Italian born grandparents are considered citizens of Ireland or Italy no matter where they are born. if you are born in America but have grandparents from Ireland or Italy you are considered a citizen of Ireland and Italy. You can’t be a duel citizen and be president. Unless Italy and Ireland change their laws people with Irish or Italian parents or grandparents cannot be president of the USA since they are also citizens of another country. Remember even if Obama had been born in Hawaii (a big if since most agree that the birth certificate is fake) his father was a foreigner and foreign citizenship was pronounced on Obama from birth.
This is why I am lucky my great great grandparents were born in Ireland and not my grandparents. I am not considered a citizen under their laws so I could run for president if I wanted.
We need to check every candidate for duel citizenship before election time to avoid a disaster like Obama. If another country considers you a citizen you cannot be president. This excludes a lot of Americans with Irish and Italian grandparents. Unless Italy and Ireland change their laws, these people cannot be president.
Welcome to FR.
Who were you previously?
And it’s dual, not duel.
Actually Rafael Sr was a Canadian citizen at the time of Ted’s birth. He apparently was no longer Cuban. Rafael Sr did not become an American until 2005.
