I’m all for legal immigration. And, truth be told, if we eliminate all the government direct handouts to citizens in general, I’d be all for increasing the number of legal immigrants.

Frankly, the whole immigration, economy, entitlements rats ness of problems is like a tangled christmas tree light rats nest with ten billion lights.

That is, nobody is going to solve it. No human. It’s just gonna get uglier and uglier until it comes to total collapse and war. It’s not a matter of if. It’s amatter of when. And it is looking like we are very close.

You want to increase legal immigration to more than 1.1 million a year? One in 8 in this country are foreign-born, the highest it has been in 90 years. We have 21 million Americans unemployed or underemployed. Wages are declining and the labor participation levels are declining. Why do we need more immigants--legal or illegal? And what kind of immigrants and from where?

If we eliminated all the handouts, there would be very little illegal immigration.

A life of just scraping by on handouts in the US is much, much better than life in the third world. As long as that is true, we can't stop illegal immigration. Despite their draconian efforts, even the Berlin Wall couldn't keep all of the East Germans in.
