In 2013 the labor-force participation of foreign-born workers was higher than native-born workers (66.4% vs. 62.7%). Their unemployment rate was lower (6.9%, compared with 7.5% for native-born Americans). Neither statistic is particularly surprising considering that they work cheaper and more often than not consume government subsidies to fill the wage gap which their employers doesn't pay.
If we imported third worlders from Bangladesh rather than Latin America, big business could pay them even less.

And,equally important to the “above the table” federal subsidies, are the below-the-table illegal alien “worker” benefits possible with a cash-economy: NO TAXES, no medical insurance, no unemployment insurance, no SSI payments, and no withholding!
