Barack Obama Tuesday suggested that the U.S. government..... strict bans on automatic weapons.
I don't know about anyone else but I can't even afford the licensing fees just to purchas a pre '86 automatic weapon.
Assuming I could, there is no way in hell could I ever afford to buy one.......If you can find one on the internet, check out the selling price for a good condition M-16........

I don't know about anyone else but I can't even afford the licensing fees just to purchas a pre '86 automatic weapon.I believe the NFA tax stamp is still $200, as it has been since 1934, but the supply/demand equation has made fully-automatic firearms an excellent investment since 1986.
But fully automatic weapons are just about never used in crimes. IIRC, the most common firearm used in homicides in the US is a .38 caliber revolver.
