Sara Robinson of Seattle, Washington, is chatty, affable, and obviously liberal. For years the former writer for Alternet has been a member of a tight-knit community of activists who write and organize around progressive causes. Or at least she was a member, until her tribe, as she calls it, effectively banished her in the wake of the December 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting. I was forced out, she says.
Robinson, a registered Democrat since the Reagan era, is also a life-long gun owner. And almost as soon as news of the massacre broke, her relationship with her left-leaning circle began to fall apart over the issue of firearms.

does anyone here banish people from your life, if they hold differing political views on issues of the day? It seems to me that I only hear of LIBERALS who seek to shun people, stop speaking to family members who are not liberal enough to suit them.

I had a true lib associate on Face Book for a while.
During the government shut down he was proud of all the work being done to keep evil law breakers off Federal Property - I was not so he blocked me.
He was also down on Republicans for trying to change Obamacare. I wonder if he can count the number of times the Prez has changed it since then?
I tend to distrust such folks. I don’t like them arming up.
Being cast out of that tribe - and that’s the word for it - was the best thing that ever happened to her.
It does seem to be a “progressive” prerogative. I just got kicked off a liberal chef’s page on Facebook for taking a shot at Michele Obama’s dreck food that she’s pushing on American kids. This was two weeks after I had bought and paid for two of his cookbooks and had them autographed at a book party. I didn’t know his political affiliation at the time of the signing. And he’s a Brit living in France and thinks his opinion of The Moocher’s food is valid!
I have banished liberals from my life. I am no longer on speaking terms with Hanoi Jane, Serpenthead, Meathead, and a lot of others. And I am very proud to have done so.
If she really did that, she would not be a liberal. Liberal policies fail time after time, due to the fact that they are based on good intentions and not good results.
Good for you, plus I boycott their films if they are in the industry.
Most of my people live on the left coast and I have nothing to say to them. I’m the one of two who became free in the North GA. Mt. thank G-D. Free, Free at last!
From my observations, gentlemen prefer blonds and loath Liberals.
And, after befriending a stray liberal and a stray dog, a year later the dog won’t bite you.
I don’t know if banish is the right word, but I do tend to avoid them for the most part.
When are these people going to learn it’s about control and power? You can be the best person in the world; but if they want you out for any reason, usually absurd and a lie; you will be out.
Liberals aren’t necessarily gun control statists. It’s the Left that is primarily running the gun grab.
BTW, the Left needs guns to take away guns, so it’s not really about the guns.
>> When are these people going to learn its about control and power?
Exactly.
That's because it is not foaming-at-the-mouth, barking mad.
The liberal on the other hand...
