Your comments about it are the first I’ve heard about it. Though I imagine it’s because he’s running for another office. That’s usually the case. If they’re important votes, he should be returning for them. But if he sees that his vote wouldn’t change the outcome anyway, he probably doesn’t care. His eyes are on his senate campaign. That’s the nature of politicians.

I actually understand this quite well. T.W. Shannon is quite the campaigner. He’s spent more time scoring big endorsements than he has in candidate debates, and representing his constituents; however, I think it goes deeper. Shannon has spoken on the floor of the OK House of Reps for a grand total of 15 minutes during the course of his entire career. Lankford is going after a bigger office, but that hasn’t stopped him from voting in a Republican controlled House.
