This is a tough one. Scotland has been under UK’s boot since Wallace or thereabouts but the latest SNP folks are euro-eco-socialists who also happen to appeal to nationalism. Hate to feed the blue-greenies but Scotland should be independant. Maybe let um vote yes and then the latent caber-tossing types can sort out the lefties.

Nonsense. The United Kingdom wasn't a conquest or an occupation: it was a voluntary union of two independent nations, in which Scotland was technically the senior partner (in that a Scottish monarch inherited the English throne, not the other way round).
In recent times United Kingdom politics has often been dominated by Scottish politicians, who have exerted an influence beyond what you would expect from the size of the respective populations. The last three British prime ministers have been Scottish, or of Scottish upbringing or origin, as have many senior cabinet ministers.
