“The experience was almost more than I could bear,” Kijera wrote about the incident, “I pleaded with him to honor my commitment to Haiti, to him as a brother in the mutual struggle for an end to our common oppression, but to no avail. He didn’t care.”

According to Kijera, she eventually stopped fighting him, claiming that there was nothing she could do to stop him from raping her repeatedly. After the tragic experience, she placed the blame on a very unexpected course.

“Women are not the source of their oppression; oppressive policies and the as-yet unaddressed white patriarchy which still dominates the global stage are,”

It seems she enjoyed it, or became attracted to him during the process. At any rate, her own testimony negates her “dramatic rape scene”

Seriously?

You know what...that is utter Bravo Sierra.

I do not agree with her ideology...and I think she was a foolish woman, and has a mind full of mush in terms of her politics. But what you are implying and saying is utter garbage and beneath the dignity of this forum IMHO.

Are you married? Imagine if it was your wife.

Do you have daughters? I have three. They are all grown now and in their 30s. Imagine if it were one of your daughters, regardless of how foolish they may have been.

No...I will not for an instant countenance that she somehow "enjoyed," being brutally raped by the criminal who did it.

Politics and ideology like hers are important issues we must stand against...and should. But to imply such a thing as this, IMHO, leans dangerously over into becoming the very thing we fight.
