No reason to be despondent. Once you step back and critically evaluate the way things are versus the way you wish they were, other possibilities start to present themselves.
The desire to live ones life peaceably, to keep the fruits of ones labors, and to do as you wish so long as it doesn’t unreasonably interfere with the lives of others* ...that is to say the desire to live conservatively and in liberty is not going away. The question is how to achieve it, preferably while we’re still living, given that we’re living in a country where such views are in the minority. One possibility that holds promise is contained in my tag line. There are others.
