Reuters reporter Mark Felsenthal reports that Sgt. Bergdahl's hometown in Idaho is cancelling its planned celebration. "Bergdahl's home town in Idaho has canceled plans for a celebration, city administrator says," reports Felsenthal on Twitter.

yeah that flush faced woman was interviewed on Hannity last evening. She seemed like a typical liberal just throwing out excuses as to why he said he was ashamed at being an American and why he deserted his men and almost everyone he served with stated he was a deserter. The lamest excuse was the men he served with were mistaken because they may have been confused (I forget her actual words) due to the mental anguish of war. You could tell Hannity wasn’t buying her BS.

I would imagine that several libs signed up to fight only to try and pull crap like this guy did. I can remember seeing a vid of the “human shields” in Iraq singing on street corners while the Iraqi population walked by looking dumbfounded and embarrassed. One woman in particular was strumming her guitar singing a Joan Bias protest song. The Iraqis just walked by her looking at her like she was crazy. After the invasion, they found a white western female in the streets, beheaded and nude.

I think this is the real reason why it was cancelled.
I'm don't think anyone would have been throwing things at him (that's assault), but you can be sure the parade would have been attended by many veterans and other people outraged by the hero's welcome for a deserter.
And they likely would have expressed their displeasure in various ways protected by the First Amendment.
Or better yet, the nearest Oak tree with a large enough limb to support a hanging body.
