That is not the point. Do you want someone stupid enough to allow that in the workplace in charge of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of your equipment. Once again, it is the lack of judgement, not the severity of the crime.
In 1944 there was one set of standards. In 2014 there is another. Not having nude pictures in your workplace I’d not a tough call. This guy clearly missed the class where everyone was told this was bad.

I want flyers who can fly, shooters who can shoot, bombers who can bomb, fighter pilots who can shoot down, missile officers who can land ordnance on the target. Beyond that, as a Christian, I would prefer they followed Christian morality, but as a taxpayer, I do not care what pictures are in the cockpit, I care who sits in the cockpit. To quote a present CinC: if I like my Blue Angels, I should get to keep my Blue Angels. PERIOD.

There are no standards in 2014, it all depends on whether you are part of a protected group. Nothing about that is "standard", it's all subjective.
I'd rather have someone in charge of millions of dollars worth of equipment who knows what parts should go where, by design, than someone who has some confusion about what fits what, especially on such a fundamental level.
This was one woman who had issues. Go read all of the comments of support for this man from all of the men who worked for him and from their wives. Go read the comments of support from women pilots who were on his team. This is bad business. And he served his country with honor and distinction.
YGBSM... There are traditions in the military. Fighter guys are rebels, gentlemen bad boys, there are several ways to describe it. Guess what? SF are the same way. There are ways to build esprit and believe it or not lightly flaunting rules is one of them. These guys would also beat your ass if you were threatening a girl in public. I have seen it. Actually I have partcipated. We also drank too much, sangs lewd songs, and broke stuff. All traditions that go back to WW I in some cases.
There are so many stresses on morale right it chaps my ass that THIS is what we are worried about????
