Live elections results. Polls close in 20 minutes!
I’m worried about Holmes...surrounded by a lot of Cochran leaning counties....
Thanks...
Well, please say a prayer for McDaniel. Night ;)
If he already had an ounce of class, he would not have asked
for democrat crossover votes.
14,000 votes still outstanding. Cochran would need 13,000 of those 14,000 votes to win. It ain’t happening.
True, but not a high enough population to counteract Covington really. Choctaw and Clarke will counter outstanding votes in Warren. Other counties are only going Cochran marginally with few votes left.
I expect any minute now to be calling the race for McDaniel. Whether we have a runoff or not is a whole different question.
Exactly! if (hope not) but if goes to runoff, hope McDaniel or someone asks him how many RAT votes he got.
Then Cochran definitely fails to avoid a runoff at least!
Now, I want to be sure I understand the absentee procedure... if none of those have been counted/reported yet, that should be very good news for McDaniel. I seriously doubt many people were going to take the bother to absentee vote for Cochran.
Think about this. Ted Cruz lost to David Dewhurst in the primary, but kept him just low enough to force a runoff. How will a runoff in Mississippi go when McDaniel actually WINS the first round?
CORRECTAMUNDO!
Disgusting reminder that ‘all politics is local’.
Hope that is true!!!!! (Crossing Fingers and toes til they turn blue)
“I seriously doubt many people were going to take the bother to absentee vote for Cochran.”
Au Contraire. I know one person who will have bothered to fill in SEVERAL absentee ballots for Cochran. His initials are HB and he likes releasing felons from death row.
You’re assuming that Cochran won’t ask for a recount. I suspect if that happens we’ll have a Franken/MN ‘recount’ all over again.
C. McDaniel 49.4% 144,851
T. Cochran (i) 49.0% 143,495
McDaniel drops .1%
95.4% in
A win is a win.
Boss Hogg and the GOPe’s pulled every dirty trick in the book and
it appears all it brought them was their first primary loss, before the
runoff.
Fake Nursing Home Scandal
Asking For RAT crossover votes
Hinds County holding back votes
Every trick they used could not crush McDaniel.
Stick around, newbie. We need cool heads to prevail.
14,000 votes still outstanding. McDaniel would need 9,800 of those 14,000 votes to avoid a runoff.
I don’t think they could in Mississippi pull it as obviously as that. There would be a march on the capital. Even those who lazily voted for Cochran will not tolerate blatant cheating.
