Awww, you just rained on my parade. So which is bigger in terms of voting population do you think, Holmes or Covington?

Maybe they’re making extra sure so Thad the RINO can’t fight it. Praying so.

At some point, these late-night precinct reporting shenanigans just become more proof of what everyone thinks about the GOPe merging into a unity party.

These used to be the antics of Democrats. Now it has become the antics of incumbents.

Might as well include Lafayette county in that.

No Covington doesn't have the population of Jones County... so there won't be that much of a vote differential. But it WILL be headed in the right direction.

I figure the rest of Hinds will give up a net 1000 votes for Cochran. I don't know if Chris can avoid the run-off.

I wouldn't be shocked if Cochran conceded the raced without a runoff. He's 76, and this race has to be a shock to him after decades of running virtually unopposed. More than half of his own party in the state voted for someone else. He still has something of an honorable reputation within the state, and I think he'd like to end it that way, rather than being dumped in a pointless run-off.

Of course its doom and gloom. The only faces there are Cochran’s, Hayley Barbour, and a balloon they drew a smiley on.

Definitely fraud in Hinds if they’re holding their votes this long. It isn’t as though they aren’t computerized. Or have to hire the pony express to take them to be counted.

They’re just waiting for the rural counties to report to see how many they have to make up. Big city/rural northern states do this as well. The rural conservatives report, faithfully, as soon as they get the totals. The big cities manufacture the needed votes to make up the difference and put their guy over the top. PA does this bigtime. The urban precincts will vote 110% of their registered voters. And no one says anything about it either.

No matter who does it, Dems or GOPe, they’re stealing our freedom. I find it hard to believe that no one sends a team out at some point to see what the hold-up is. Everyone knows what’s going on, everyone.

Have you seen any polling on your race...I was reading some blog the other day...the guy said that on the chance that Mitch loses in November, both Cornyn and Lamar were already starting to count votes, and I wanted to go throw up...Lamar Alexander as Majority Leader????????Crap..

I agree. Thad would have to debate if its a runoff election, he could not avoid it. Does anyone honestly think Thad Cochran has it in him to get up on a debate stage. He probably hasn’t been on one in decades!

Dunno about holmes and covington. Probably fairly close. Holmes might be a bit bigger but not by much?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippi_census_statistical_areas

Both seem to have ~20K in population.

Holding out to see how many votes they need - ugh. Praying it’s something else. Hanging chads?

Very interesting and cogent analysis. I wrote a little while ago that some how, some way, Chris has to force Cochran into a debate...Thad couldn’t survive it..the Miss media has to come together and demand one...

Cornyn as Majority/Minority leader wouldn’t be much better than Miss Lindsay
