Live elections results. Polls close in 20 minutes!
Both are Cochran friendly, but Caiborne came in. Low turnout. barely gave Cochran a whimper. 161 votes. Holmes is Cochran, but Covington will go McDaniel by a bigger margin
Knock it off!

Dare I hope McDaniel could still squeak over 50%?
Can’t anyone in the media notice Hinds County’s hold on ballots? What a bunch of idiots we have for media.

Thad Cochran (Inc.) 138,110 49%
Thomas Carey 4,548 2%
Praying you are spot on about the trump card!!
Great job with the updates on this thread, tonight, FRiend. Thanks much.
Cochroach needs to do the right thing here and withdraw if this comes down to a runoff.
IA has never had party runoffs; they may have them in special elections, but not in primaries.
ok.
McDaniel really could pull this out. Holmes and Covington are left, right?
Well, judging by neighboring counties, Holmes should have a population voting about 800-1000 maybe. But in Jones, which is right next to Covington, there were 11,000 votes cast for McDaniel! Covington will boost McDaniel, perhaps over the top!
Rankin seems to be countering Hinds. Holding at 68% for a while now. Those counties are close to each other. They all know each other around that part of the state.

So it’s whoever gets the most votes as long as it’s above 35%?
If it comes down to a runoff, which way are Carey voters likely to go?
If the population of Covington county is anywhere close to the population of neighboring Jones county, you should definitely hope ;)
Are you perchance Michael Barone in disguise?
Travis Childers will be tough for Cochran to beat. It will be a horse race. They both support amnesty, abortion, obamacare. Cant say on gun rights. They both probably would vote for reasonable gun control given the right tragedy.I simply pointed out that the list of things they "both supported" was inaccurate, and we shouldn't be so scared of losing if Cochran managed to win.
Apparently a lot of people prefer being scared and depressed.
