A family owned bakery has been ordered to make wedding cakes for gay couples and guarantee that its staff be given comprehensive training on Colorado’s anti-discrimination laws after the state’s Civil Rights Commission determined the Christian baker violated the law by refusing to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.

Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, in Lakewood, Colorado was directed to change his store policies immediately and force his staff to attend the training sessions. For the next two years, Phillips will also be required to submit quarterly reports to the commission to confirm that he has not turned away customers based on their sexual orientation.

“This is all about shoving your deviant lifestyle in the faces of those who disagree with it.”

Exactly right. The homos (and libtards in general) go out and look for things to aggravate them and then use the “legal system” to force their views onto those who disagree with them.

OK. So then walk into a halal shop and ask for a gay cake and see what happens. I can guarandamntee you that no civil rights commission will be on their back when they refuse.

I used to answer their questions pretending to be an emotionless, soulless monotone robot. They hated it. I loved it.

I like that idea.

I also think he should move and open shop, elsewhere - like Texas.

Like I said, I am not advocating for sabotage.

The fact is that no matter what, he is not going to win with the Gay Mafia, so why try?

Even at this point, if he made such a statement, I figure the “Civil Rights, Except YOUR Civil Rights Committee” would actually allow the gay couple to make him NOT give the proceeds to such an organization! That is how STUPID this whole ruling really is!

Only take checks and make THEM write the check DIRECTLY to the organization! Now THAT would end this issue even QUICKER!

That or he could just make wedding cakes and put up a big sign that says: “100% of ALL profits from the sale of all WEDDING cakes will be donated to the Family Research Council in the name of the couple to promote HETEROSEXUAL marriage amendments throughout the country” and see how many “packers” like having their money go for fighting their lifestyle.

He could even go so far as to sell the most expensive wedding cakes in the entire state, ensuring that everyone who wants one will give him the maximum amount of profit per wedding he can possibly get. Then proceed to try to sell them every accessory, specialty and add on he can think of. Roll up in the van with the same “100% of ALL Profits....” in big, bold letters on the side and even print out a big poster “Thanking” the lovely “couple” - by name, of course - for their generous donation to FRC.

And do it all with a smile on his face.

So long as EVERY couple who comes in for a cake gets the same treatment, there isn’t a damn thing the “packers” can do.

so what will they do? Throw the company in Prison? SUE THE STATE!

This crime is made up, NOT FROM LAW, but from evil!

These good bakers should create a standard contract that specifies no penalty for non-performance. If they express their disapproval of being compelled by government force to violate deeply-held religious beliefs but agree to bake a cake if the buyers so demand, then they can in good conscience “oopsie, dropped the cake” on the day of the pretend wedding and cancel the contract, and refund payment due to their non-performance. If they are out a few dollars in sugar and flour, that’s no big deal compared with the joy of standing up to petty evil, especially if they don’t put much time or effort into a compulsory product that they know will never be delivered.

Anyone unwilling to face crushing legal bills from these fascists has no moral obligation to deal with them in good faith. Oopsie, the plumbing backed up, and you can’t use our venue tomorrow. In accordance with the contract, there is no non-performance penalty, but here is a refund of your deposit. I don’t care, not even a little, about some entitled bigot with a few hundred guests and no place to put them, not when they demanded that another person violate core values for their personal pleasure.

Photography? Whether the photographer takes syrup of ipecac on his way in to a gay wedding he is compelled to serve by a court order or a “Civil Rights” Commission, or he accidentally reformats the digital drive, misdevelops the film, or makes the wrong autofocus selection so that there are no usable photos, I’m good with that.

All contracts for personal service in areas controlled by the petty tyrants should have a “no penalty for non-performance” clause, and decent people who object to being compelled to serve in documenting/celebrating perversion should ensure that the non-performance is not provably intentional. In any case, however, decent people should never submit to evil. [Note: I’m not saying it is immoral to photograph/bake for a gay “wedding”, just that it is immoral to attempt to compel someone to violate core religious beliefs.]

This so called, “Civil Rights Commission” has violated Mr. Phillips’ First Amendment rights. He needs to sue the bass turds right into bankruptcy.

I disagree. Insults to liberty like this ruling require a response of boiling hot tar and a liberal application of chicken feathers.

It would be a shame if someone dropped some Exlax into the dough. Might ruin the honeymoon.

Thank you. We often feel constrained by our sense of fair play and forget that we only owe good faith to those who show good faith. We owe those on the other side of the culture wars nothing.

He should announce a new store menu that includes everything one would find at a bakery...except for wedding cakes.

He should also announce the new “Christian Bakers Club” which can be joined by anyone who signs onto the club’s principles which would include the pro-natural marriage position of the bible.

Members can attend classes on many things, to include wedding cakes and decorations, and for a fee have theirs personally overseen by the instructor.
