Lavrov has begun to push for a No Fly Zone, directly citing Obama’s own words about Libya. The Russians called an Emergency Security Council meeting last night to discuss a new resolution, but they said they didn’t expect much from NATO, and that’s what they got.

Depending on how the meetup goes on D-Day, I think he’ll move after that. Just too much pressure building at home, and from the parliament. And they can claim the same moral high ground that Obama claimed in Libya, for the same reasons.
(Do the Ukrainian have any of those amazing flying palaces, building, tanks, and people like the Libyans apparently had?)

And you’ll remember, I called this all the way back in early March, when others were saying Putin would invade with ground forces. I’m just surprised it has taken this long.

Yes Lavrov did push for a No Fly Zone...the US can’t initiate that (lead) because they are staying as far away from anything which might implicate their involvement more than what is already evidenced.

We both know, as do others, this is now about how both the US and Russia can save face....but every move they make does appear to make matters worse on the ground.

Yes, I remember you saying Putin would go in...and he may yet as he’s got all the military on the borders, or close enough...the US can’t until Putin makes the move so they can say they had no choice, and until things get bloody enough.

Putin has to be certain that the International “Citizens” will support his moves, even if they disagree with him, just to stop the Keiv Army from bombing Ukrainians. Other nations are alreay protesting and want ‘someone’to stop it.....

I said at the beginning that the US/a\Nato would do some backdoor dealing with Russia ....I think so far they’ve not met Russia’s requirements or Russia would have gone in.....they know they’ll have to take the heat when they do...

Remember Syria got right to the doorstep....then Russia stepped up to the plate.....I think it will be the same here....and the US will agree.

Heck Russia could sit on it’s border and knock some of these jets right out of the air...not so sure Russia wants to go in even now though....it’ll be his war then and not so sure they want that expense when it’s US/Nato who initiated this entire mess.
