But it’s coming. God forgives upon repentance, but never takes away the consequences of the sin.

We'd all be sunk if God never intervened in "the consequences of the sin." That's the meaning of his mercy and grace. It is totally undeserved but he loves us that much.

Feels like you're more comfortable with the Old Testament condemnation of people and nations because of sin. But the New Covenant and New Testament in his blood declares "no condemnation" and grace for our failings.

Also feels like each may not be able to convince the other here. Both of us have a degree of support. My stand is on the New Covenant of grace and God's mercy for America. Yours is otherwise. I have strong Biblical support but also, for obvious reasons, I also sure hope I'm right and you're wrong.
