In the event that there are more Elliot Rodgers out there that are ready to snap because girls way out of your league wont respond to your creepy advances; and yet, youre not completely sold on the murder/suicide option: herewith are eight surefire points to move you back to SaneTown, attract a girl worth loving and officially assimilate out of Wussville and into the rarified air of a combobulated man.
1. Drop the poor you crap, especially, if you live in the lap of luxury. Chicks dont want some puss-n-boots who whines about going over molehills in the Garden of Eden. Play the man if you truly wish to draw the attention of a girl whos worth her salt. And definitely dont do videos where you bray to the masses that youre an unhinged, pitiful ass.
2. Get a vision. Visionaries who want to slay a dragon, save a nation and right a wrong are attractive. Solipsistic me-monkeys are repugnant to people of note. God didnt call you to be a navel gazer. Go out into the desert and get aligned with your eternal purpose and if for some reason your antenna isnt picking up on Gods higher calling for you, theres plenty of things currently bigger than your dipstick life to get involved with thatll help God and country. Get lost in them and, even if you look like Napoleon Dynamite, your passion will make you a chick magnet.
3. If you really want a girlfriend, then dont go to Katy Perry concerts unless youre gay; and if you are gay, then quit bitching about girls not liking you.
4. Sell your Beemer and give the proceeds to a wounded vet thats currently getting no care from the VA of Obamaland. Be self-sacrificial. Its the Jesus way. And who knows maybe your altruistic spirit of giving will land you on TV and boom instant chicks!
5. Instead of pining like a charter member of Sgt. Peppers Lonely-Hearts Club Band, use that time to read books and start with the Classics. Girls like leaders and leaders are readers.
6. Spend time with God. Get your identity from Him not culture and certainly not from a chick that roams the Hollywood hills.
7. Embrace rejection and pain. That stuff Elliot squealed about on his video screeds is par for the course for awkward, male teens and twenty-somethings. I was constantly rejected until I pulled my head out of my backside last year. Rejection and pain is the way of life, hombre. Thats why God created beer.
8. Dont wish you were someone else. I wasted a lot of time during my early years always wanting to be someone else, and thank God those wishes didnt come true. With the advent of Facebook Ive seen how some of those clowns that I looked up to/wanted to be back in high school turned out. Holy crikey, theyre train wrecks. Also, a lot of the girls that I thought I couldnt live without back in the day morphed into sea-cows. Thank God my prayers werent answered back then, eh?
Look, getting rebuffed by hot chicks is the standard for young dorks. Its the way of the jungle, hoss. Get used to it and get busy bettering yourself and the planet and do us all a favor and shut the heck up.
Finally, please understand that a good dad trains his daughters to avoid lunks like Elliot. We do not teach our daughters to be rude, but we do teach our girls to cudgel off narcissistic crotch rockets and let them know, in no uncertain way, that they arent interested in your shallow life if youre insistent on being a toad.
This is excellent advice. My wife told me that what first attracted her to me was my Confidence.
Able amusing, the poster missed the point: this kid was crazy. There is no understanding crazy. Why are we applying sane reasoning to crazy?
This kid should have been locked up. But everyone is “special” these days. Bring back the nut houses.
Able= While.
Well, exactly. The writer completely missed the point. Ann Coulter’s column yesterday was better.
My advice is for parents of creepy, sick kids: keep them locked up in the attic.
Uhhh, attracted me to her.. It definitely wasn’t my language skills.
Great advice, but the unfortunate reality of that kid was that no amount of attention from the babes was going to fix him.
No, the author hit the nail on the head. He’s speaking to the sane.
“In the event that there are more Elliot Rodgers out there that are ready to snap because girls way out of your league wont respond to your creepy advances; and yet, youre not completely sold on the murder/suicide option:”
Good advice. I like it.
As a chick, I agree. As a mother raising a Little Man, I agree.
Yes, but Elliot was crazy.
I once had a bought with depression. People would give advice like, “buck up, it’s going to get better.” They did not understand it was not a matter of not wanting to get better. It was an issue in my head.
This kid was not just sad and angry. He was f@&ked up. None of the advice this guy wrote could fix it.
Crazy is crazy. Do not try to make sense of it. And don’t try to take my guns away because of it. THATS what we need to protect ourselves from.
He wasn’t speaking to the crazy ones. He was speaking to the ones who can be reached.
A lot of depression is consequences of selfishness run amok.
And by the same token, a lot of people confuse being down in the dumps over something and clinical depression.
They are not remotely similar.
Won’t do much good for a schizophrenic like Elliot Rogers, believe me I tried. My neighbors kid was schizophrenic and no matter what you say or do you can’t bring them out of their own world. If I told you right now you weren’t looking at a computer screen but at a brick wall you would never believe me. Same with them, they have no idea they are being delusional, they will never believe it. When Elliot Rogers said he was God and couples were openly mocking him, that was completely real and logical to him. What needs to happen and should have happened with people like Elliot Rogers, James Holmes, Seung-Hui Cho - and schizophrenics today who could pose a possible risk to the public, is they need to be monitored. I’m not talking about 24/7 surveillance, but a process that would ensure they take their medication. One possible solution is having someone else administer it, and if they refuse to take it, then they must report it and have them committed. This kid Elliot Rogers refused to take his medication, so why was he allowed to run amok completely delusional? Why didn’t the cops do anything when his parents called them? Why was someone like jared Lee Loughner running around completely out of his mind having full blown psychotic episodes in class when he should have been hospitalized? You ever see the video he made of him walking around school? This is a guy who was in the midst of a full blown psychotic episode, nothing he says makes any sense and people close to him KNEW this!! Yet nothing was done about him! And it’s all the fault of the NRA when they kill people.
“A lot of depression is consequences of selfishness run amok.”
You really should read a few medical journals.
“My advice is for parents of creepy, sick kids: keep them locked up in the attic.”
Have you read about his parents? These people are sick narcissistic psychopaths and didn’t raise him properly.
I’ve read a little bit about them. Not much. I do know they lawyered up pretty quickly which I found disgusting. I still think the monster should have been locked up in an attic - even if it was gold-plated.
IMO, this kid should have been committed years ago & NEVER allowed to be on ANY college campus or out in the public scene.
He has a decade or longer history of mental issues, and it was beyond stupid for anyone who was treating him or any member of his family to think that he could be trusted to take his meds.
Fantasy-—all around.
That’s only part of it. Nobody is asking about the objects of his ‘therapy’...the so-called mental health professionals his parents subjected him to since the age of 8 (if that’s accurate).
MDs are held to the fire for causing deaths of their patients. It seems nobody ever asks if psychological care can ever be negligent. Google ‘psychologist convicted’ and you get nothing but effed up docs doing stupid things. I can’t recall ever reading of a psychologist getting taken to task for their lousy care. This kid was so messed up he quoted his therapist in his rantings...
Yes. I was not down in the dumps. I cringe when I hear someone say, “Oh, I was so depressed.”
If you are up and walking around, you are not “depressed.”
Curled up in a ball for days....that’s depressed.
