The Constitution's Article V indicates that amendments to the Constitution actually have to be ratified by 3/4 of the states.
After watching the video, Harvard Law School-indocrinated Cruz was reasonably giving the wrong impression that the Senate can amend the Constitution. So I'm more dissapointed with Cruz then I already was. And of course the constitutionally ignorant "conservative" crowd that he seemed to be addressing was seemingly swallowing every word that he said.
The Constitution’s Article V indicates that amendments to the Constitution actually have to be ratified by 3/4 of the states.
and Obama”s Migrant Voter Program(move Dems from Blue states to Reds states and vote in both) will fix that
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
The Senate can propose amendments to the Constitution and that is what they are planning to do.
Ted Cruz is spot on in calling this out because the democrats and their republican establishment surrogates will make this amendment look like it’s focused only on campaign financing. Senator Cruz is educating people that it goes far beyond campaign financing to the suppression of free speech in effect neutering the First Amendment.
Ted Cruz is fine.

IMO, Cruz wasn’t talking about a bill to actually change the First Amendment.
He is saying that Shumer’s bill relative to campaign finance reform will contain limitations on political speech, which would be a violation of the Freedom of Speech.
I think most commenters on this thread just saw the reference to an Amendment and misunderstood what Cruz meant.
amen brother. The knee jerk brigade, as usual, isn’t thinking. Congress cannot amend the constitution. Period.
Your analysis is absurd.
If anything, Mr. Cruz simply assumed that anyone who is paying attention understands the Amendment process. Nowhere can I see, from that video, that he is subtly or overtly implying that the Senate can amend the constitution by itself.
He does not describe the entire process, but why would he need to? The process begins in Congress or a Constitutional Convention, so I don’t see your irrational line of reasoning having any substance unless it springs forth from personal bias.
Please, remove your head from your fourth point of contact.
Where did the senator do that?
The article gives that impression, I'll agree. But it's just that it has a click-bait title and video caption written by a crackpot, loose-cannon blogger.
So I’m more dissapointed with Cruz then I already was.
