Unfortunately, it my macho family, boys weren’t allowed into the kitchen except for my uncle who fried Spam and allowed popcorn to explode onto the ceiling. He was a bachelor and an ex-Navy guy.
I was put to work by age 4.
Girls do guy work, Guys do girl work, it’s all just work that needs to be done.
At anyrate I think it is important to make meals a family thing.
Get those kids out in the garden, set them to work shucking corn.
My Ma had me putting dinner on when I got home from Kindergarten.
Dad had me bust mowin the lawn.
