I don’t know that Newt had a chance or not, but Newt was the only one who could move mass public opinion with talent and persuasion. What I do know as well, is that it was never going to be Santorum. After Florida, it was over….

That's a fact. He was the only one whom Romney feared and aggressively fought. Alas, too many memorable historical appearances of 'Bad Newt' weighed him down.

Santorum? Laughable to compare him to Newt. A well done comparison of their respective 2012 great campaign speeches by FReeper Patton@Bastogne can be found here...
