Ok, here's a thread for tonight. I live in MA so I don't know when the polls close.
Surely Brother FReeper cotton1706 did not mean R-u-n-n-o-f-t?
*************
Gotta watch them ‘runnoft’. Never know where they come from or where they go.
I know. I went to his last concert in Dallas and bought a t-shirt. I stood in line to get it autographed. I shook his hand and introduced myself as his lone conservative fan. He said, “Aw, that’s sweet, hon. You’re probably right.” (*snort*)
As for the dem side, I ran into Kinky Friedman at the grocery store again yesterday. We shook hands and exchanged pleasantries but he seemed a bit shaky and looked mighty frail. He’s 70 and has never won an election. I don’t see him winning the runoff for Ag commissioner on the dem side. His whole campaign is based on trying to legalize marijuana and to champion hemp production as a water saving tactic verses cotton production. I’m sure he’ll get lots of votes in Austin.
As long as Dewhurst is run off! :-)
I agree... bump for later
You think after he got that whopping 27 votes when he ran for Sheriff here years ago...Anyhow, I can remember him saying that as Ag Commissioner, he'd start a program to promote Texas Agricultural Products.
I thought what Rock have you been under since 1999 when the "Go Texan!" Program was started by the Lone Star State?
I would have said to him: if you can learn a thing or two from Charlie (doncha know), why can’t you figure out what your party is doing to our Country!?!?!
He still has time to wise up, though :)
Indeed.
But Patrick is the lesser of too weevils.
Just voted in Magnolia. With the stormy weather and a light turn-out election at best, I figure my vote counts a bunch. Voted for Dan Patrick because Dewhurst is the other name on the ballot, and voted for Paxton enthusiastically.
Kinky came in 1% point behind the other candidate who I know nothing about.
That maybe about the max vote he can get.
I’ll tell him for ya. I have front, center table on his mic at Billy Bob’s.
I’m in Williamson County, will stop by Randall’s and vote on my way home.
He’s one of the few artists who literally raises the hair on the back of my neck. I’m in complete a’chord’ance with him.
The Revenge of the Tea Party! let Texas show us the way!

Sitton is OK, but Wayne Christian is anti-Straus, and that’s the deal breaker.
Hall’s voting record is good, as I understand it, but he seems frail and out of touch.
Waitaminnit... you have a problem with someone being anti-Straus?
The RRC has zero to do with the house.
Christian ran a very dishonest campaign, saying he was for all sorts of great stuff on abortion, guns, welfare, etc.
None of which has a darn thing with the production of oil.
