FreeRepublic.com is the best, bar none.

It's been my Homepage for almost all of my tenure as a FReeper.

It is the bulwark Conservative site that thousands of leftist Trolls have attacked and failed miserably.

Their burned bodies can still be seen at the foot of the ramparts!

Long live FreeRepublic, its owners, its staff, and its Conservative members!

May God bless them, one and all.

(And for all those who read this thread, and are able to, pitch in to fill the tank -- we've got a long way to go together to save this Nation, and a short time to get there.)

The FR forum software is pure genius. It just flows, and has none of the annoyances of the other forums. It’s so much better than anything else out there I’m surprised it hasn’t been copied.

These statistics both puzzle and surprise me. I would have though Freepers to be generous, thankful, appreciative, fair minded, brave and handsome (the ladies lovely).

If you look at my posting history and you pay particular attention to the dates and times, you'll see that I'm "on" FR a lot. (Probably too much :)

I do not, by choice, have a television set. Can't stand the LSM. I get a good 90% of my news from right here.

When something is that valuable to me, I try and perpetuate it. That's why I'm a monthly donor and kick in the bucks to sponsor new monthly donors. Because I know we need to increase the monthly donor amount to completely eliminate the quarterly FReepathons.

FR's quarterly nut is $85,000. Divided by 3, FR's monthly nut is around $28,350. According to the scoreboard (scroll to the bottom), there are 680 monthly donors that give $11,428 per month, leaving $16,900 to be made up through the FReepathon.

If a bunch more FReepers would start donating monthly (and it's not hard; if you have auto bill pay at your bank, just add FR - this is not rocket science), FReepathons would be a thing of the past.

If you like FR, donate. If you really like FR, as I do, donate monthly.

Do what ever you can to keep FR on the air.

I can track every comment I've made, every response to it,

While I do echo your sentiments and wish more FReepers would regard paying FR as a far better deal than any magazine or newspaper subscription ever was, this monthly donor says that I cannot find many a post to which I wish I had access because of the WaPo/LAT lawsuit. There was a lot of work I did: ideas, references, and analysis, that I wish I could recover. I don't know if those threads are gone or simply walled off, but I would like to know. At least there is the WayBackMachine, but without knowing the original URL, it can be hard to search.

If FReepers would support this site as they should, I am sure such work would be within reach. It's just too bad that so many conservatives don't realize the power of their purses, however meager they may be.

Amen! I became a monthly donor about one month after I joined FR in 2008. Been one ever since - minus one or two brief temper tantrums when I got butt hurt about something or another. No more of that nonsense for me. I wear big-girl panties now. :D

Would it be too much to ask to rephrase your first sentence?
Either English is not your First language--- or not mine.
It makes no sense.

Unless the thread is all about you and the particular state in which you live.

“AND, we have a moderator staff dedicated both to free expression AND to maintaining the conservative identity of Free Republic and to banging heads when necessary. They get their marching orders from our main man, Big Jim Thompson, who, with his brother Matt Dillon, keeps the riffraff liberal troll deadbeats away from our town.”

That statement isn’t exactly right. And that is the likely cause of donations dropping.

Just like here in California, which I hope to escape shortly, driving people -and businesses - away affects the bottom line. Hardly surprising.

I don’t know if Jim tracks such things but I was lurker back in the 90’s here. Never signed up till in 04 or 05, keeping below the radar. When I found out that Clinton was data mining the internet and onto Bush Jr. I figured they knew anyway, so what the hell.
I have learned more from Free Republic than any other site on the entire web. That is due to the atmosphere that Jim and his crew provide and the wide knowledge on virtually any subject that the posters on FR are savvy about. Thank you all for correcting my grammar and spelling as the help is sorely needed.
The only sore point I have about FR is each quarter Tenn. always gives more money than Kentucky. It is not enough to hand Tenn. their butts in basketball each year we should give more than Tenn. and would if the yuppies in Lexington would kick in their fair share. Yes, I used the dreaded liberal phrase ‘fair share’ as a conservative poster on FR.
Each time Ky kicks the a55 of a SEC opponent in basketball we should pony up a few bucks and some 1%er (another liberal term, I may be a closet liberal) out there in FRland should match it. I can dream can’t I. Let’s save a lot of time and call for the NCAA to go ahead and mail U.K the trophy for ‘15, it’s just about the point spread now.
By the way, there are only 2 things in Tenn. that I admire, one is the Smoky Mountains, the other is Dolly Parton’s chests. They are kinda similar when you think about it.
One other thought, Ky. will never be a power in the SEC in football because we are just smart enough to not take seriously any sport that requires you to hit a running opponent coming from the opposite direction with your head. I notice Tenn. is great at it. I know football causes brain damage, the proof is Lamar Alexander.
