However, you said Kentucky had an open primary and this is why McConnell won. But the numbers don't back you up. Typically primary elections have dismal turnouts, and this is what indeed happened.

3,105,349 / 840,586 / 27.07 %
If more conservatives had just shown up and voted--and Kentucky has far more conservatives than 27%--McConnell would have been defeated.
I understand your frustration about liberal Republicans, but please understand mine:
Conservatives who don't fight, don't help and don't vote.
Don't help the Republicans. Who aren't conservative at all.
I'll be happy to see the republican party destroyed if they can't govern in a conservative manner.
Because long term, and strategically, you can't govern conservatively even if you have a majority of liberal republicans in the senate and house leadership.
