I have a lot of sympathy for what you are saying. I live in a state that is rock-solid conservative and here there is very little daylight between a Republican and a conservative. To have to hold my nose and vote RINO is something I haven't had to do except for President.

However, you said Kentucky had an open primary and this is why McConnell won. But the numbers don't back you up. Typically primary elections have dismal turnouts, and this is what indeed happened.

From the Kentucky State Board of Elections, May 20, 2014 Elections:

Eligible voters / # voted / Percentage
3,105,349 / 840,586 / 27.07 %

If more conservatives had just shown up and voted--and Kentucky has far more conservatives than 27%--McConnell would have been defeated.

I understand your frustration about liberal Republicans, but please understand mine:

Conservatives who don't fight, don't help and don't vote.

Don't help the Republicans. Who aren't conservative at all.

I'll be happy to see the republican party destroyed if they can't govern in a conservative manner.

Because long term, and strategically, you can't govern conservatively even if you have a majority of liberal republicans in the senate and house leadership.
