George Soros, the leftists’ billionaire version of Sheldon Adelson, has bought $24.3 million worth of shares in the Israeli-Based SodaStream company, which has a factory in the same Judean Desert claimed by the Palestinian Authority and for which Sorors has donated millions of dollars.

Adelson may be a partisan hack and is certainly no friend of the conservative movement (backed Gingrich first, then Romney, neither conservatives), but he isn't even in the same sleazy league as George Soros. I don't think he even has a significant fraction of the Soros wealth.
Example: Diet Coke Mix - 4.36, makes 12 liters. That's 6 two liter bottles. Just by itself that put is at about .73 cents for a two liter bottle.
A carbonaor is 15 bucks and needs to be replaced periodically. It lasts for 60 liters. So that means it adds another .25 to a two liter bottle.
So just for the needed ingredients it costs just under a buck to make a two liter bottle of diet coke.
Add in the cost of the machine and that puts the price over a buck at least until the cost/benefit balances out and then it drops to just under a buck again.
I can buy a two liter bottle of diet coke or pepsi on sale often for a buck and I don't have to do a thing except buy it.

I bought one for my son and DIL for Christmas. They love it. Also bought some Israeli/U.S. flag pins and olive oil from them. Wasn’t concerned about whether anything I purchased from Israel was practical. I try to buy something from them at least twice a year - just because it’s Israel.

None. Besides, if anyone is drinking so much soda that they need a cost benefit to buy the thing, maybe they should just cut back on it.
I was given a machine for Christmas a few years ago. I used it for a month or two but it ended up being too inconvenient, since I rarely drink soda at home, but often take it to work in my lunch.
Hearing that Soros is investing in the company, I think tonight I’ll dump out whatever syrup I have, since it’s probably expired, and sell the thing on Craigslist for $25 or $30.
It’ll be nice to free up the space on my wet bar.
I’ve done the math and asked myself the same thing— which is why I don’t own one. It might make sense for me because my tastes in soda is more in the Squirt or Fresca or Cherry 7 Up brands which don’t come on sale nearly so often.
1. No flouride when using bottled spring water.
2. No Aspartame in the diet soda, Splenda is used.
3. No High Fructose Corn Syrup in the reg.soda, Sugar is used.
4. No BPA in the bottles.
Maybe he’s betting on the Palestinians owning the factory at some point in the near future...
The allure is knowing exactly what you put into your soda. I have one and only use distilled water for it, primarily using it for flavored seltzer water, lemon, lime, and other citrus flavors. Lite and refreshing on a hot day.
My reason is the complete opposite. We drink so little soda that if we buy a two liter, at least half gets flat and thrown out. We make a half liter bottle and waste none, in two years, I’ve bought one carbonator bottle. It also is good for carbonating water for mojitos!
