Thad Cochran is getting his butt kicked in Mississippi by conservative challenger Chris McDaniel. That has sent the NRSC and its friends into a tailspin and they are desperate to tar and feather Chris McDaniel.
Some freak in Mississippi has handed them their latest tool. By willfully ignoring the real timeline and facts, the NRSC wishes to drag Chris McDaniel into scandal and, they no doubt hope, down in the polls.
It is an open secret in Mississippi that Thad Cochran’s wife is in a nursing home. I have known it for some time, which is why RedState has not pushed the story about Cochran’s relationship with Kay Webber.

In summary, it was an open secret that all political folks knew and some in the Cochran camp are painting McDaniel as being behind the burglary because he knew about the open secret as well.
Blaming either the McDaniel campaign or the Cochran campaign for the actions of a despicable nincompoop is asinine.
I agree. I think it was a crazy person or an outside establishment group.
Cochran is a good man. I can understand why the establishment prefers him out of the choices. They dont want to rock the boat.

So Redstate is a willing accomplice to adultery and made the willful decision to cover it up. How freaking moral of them to cover for this POS while his wife is in a nursing home.

It is a good thing they didn’t bring it up considering what has happened.

The establishment wants the pig trough to continue to be filled. They fear McDaniel won’t play along with that.
I don’t think Cochran honestly has the mental capacity to do something this underhanded anymore. His handlers won’t even let him debate. He’s pushing 80 for heavens sake.
I trust Henry Barbour, however, about as far as I can throw him. And then there’s Rove. And that creepy chamber of commerce amnesty freak.
Having had a family member in a similar condition I’d like to know why his wife is in a home 1500 miles away from Cochran’s primary residence. Did the other woman want her ‘out of sight out of mind’? We kept that family member close, as in 2 blocks away, so we could visit and check on them. If we could have afforded to keep her at home we would have.
So much for ‘For better or worse’. Hope the other chick pays attention to that. If they’ll do it with you they’ll do it to you...
I don’t see how knowing a US Rep is hiding an affair while his wife is in a nursing home benefits anyone but the guy having the affair. In the meantime he is open to blackmail by the dems and his fellows in the GOP to...support Amnesty perhaps?
This situational ethics crap has no place in conservatism.

Yea I had my wife to take care of for a long while before cancer got her. The last thing on my mind was shipping her off to a nursing home while I screwed around on her.
The sheer contempt I have for guys like him is impressive.

If Erickson had outed Cochran weeks ago and then this crazy man took the photo it would look like the conservatives were involved.
If he worked in the corporate world he’d (and she’d) be so fired. Boinking the executive assistant and then hauling her around the world at company expense on ‘romantic boondoggles’ to Italy and France would be firing offense bigtime.
I want to know if they get a stipend for living expenses and if this is the ‘rent’ he pays to live with his employee girlfriend.
