Is anyone going to this? I've read plenty of Freeper comments saying that we need something like this, yet I see nothing today on FR. If you live in the area, you should probably go down there and see what happens.

That was a spontaneous protestthat built gradually - OAS has been planned for 6 months and still nobody bothered to show.

For whatever it is worth, the linked rawstory website does not seem to be interested in anything even remotely conservative or constitutional. From what I can tell on Twitter, their purpose in life is to dig up something conservative that they can ridicule.

That’s just the site you can watch on. I think it’s a liberal website who’s just making fun of the patriots. But whatever, we’ll just keep on the same path, elect a few more Boehners, and complain on FR.

Actually, the event has been planned since at least early January. (http://www.operationamericanspring.org/forum/showthread.php/11-OAS-Press-Release-January-6-2014). The problem was that the organizers just weren’t very good at organizing and publicizing. The forum site, where I found that press release, has very few comments in any of the separate state forums. With that little involvement, how could anyone expect anything other than today’s low turnout?
I’m not there either. I’m really just talking about people who are dismissing it and saying it’s a false flag and stuff. There are Freepers in close proximity who aren’t there and people here aren’t helping. They talk a big game about CWII, and “the founders would be shooting by now,” and “wake me up when the shooting starts,” and “we need to do blah blah.” Then when someone tries to organize something, all of a sudden 0’s government is legit and elections work.

This has been planned forever. They were expecting 10 million people and thought actually more. under 100 people showed up. The liberals have the right to ridicule on this one. We screwed up as Conservatives BIG TIME. Very embarrassing. Not sure why any major Conservative attended. It wouldn’t be so bad had they not announced expected 10 million people or had they not used so much marketing to get the word out for months.
I believe this is the wrong way to go about change. We still have representation, poor though it may be, and procedures to work through. the founders didn’t have that and still it took them decades before they moved to fighting. We need to be better at working our system and have a little patience.
No, we have no representation in DC. Fedgov is moving to take us down, and we’re trying to elect people? It’s just silly. Fedgov is entrenched, they have all our data, the hold the reins of power, they’re not going to let elections stop them.
