Isn’t it a little strange that the police had to be called in the first place?
When I was growing up (70’s) a friend of mine’s family had a very long and drawn out court battle. His mom was a teacher, and she had tied a kid to the chair. I don’t even know how the case turned out.
But looking back on it...why not tie the unruly kid to the chair, call mom or dad to come take him home, and move on with life.
But now the police have to get involved? Wow. I think the 70’s and 80’s were transitional. My friend’s mom was acting in a 1950’s manner...something that would probably make national news today. But has this change made us better or worse?
Call the "parent" of this little moron and say you will need to find other arrangements because he's out of here. Were the parents by some freaking miracle actually working or is this a welfare case?
I need more info. But for crying out loud why can't anyone handle anything without calling the cops?
I had a fourth grade teacher who tied a kid to a chair. She would also make pupils wash their mouths with soap if they used profanity. That would be considered barbaric today, but we thought it was appropriate punishment that fitted the misdeed.
Now if you are the parent you will be charged with child abuse if you use physical discipline on your child. That is what the State is for.
Nice thoughtful comments.
But I don’t think you understand the purpose of these threads. You aren’t supposed to think and reflect on the sorry state of our society and how we got here. No.
You are supposed to emote and focus your hate on the police who have no goal but to kill you.
It’s like 1984 Minute of Hate or something.
