The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) announced on Wednesday that it had purchased the rights to a documentary series that will follow the life of Michael Sam. Terms were undisclosed, but sources said that negotiations to make the deal took two months.
Sam became the first openly gay man to be taken in the NFL draft when he was picked Saturday in the seventh round by the St. Louis Rams.
Cameras for the network were with Sam when he received the call that he was drafted and will follow him through training camp as he tries to make the team.
The network said the working title for the series is "The Untitled Michael Sam Project."

It won’t draw any viewers that she doesn’t already have.
Well Blowprah certainly loves Baraq...good point!
this will be about as successful as the series on Lindsey lohan...which is to say, not much.
It wasn’t enough that she bashed and lied about Ronald Reagan in “The Butler,” now she has to promote the homosexual “lifestyle.”
Allow me to throw up.
I hope they’re not too tough on him!
Good God, that woman is insufferable.
What he will bring to the long tradition of fruity NFL celebration dances will change the game forever. Finally we will see gyrating self-congratulatory mincing performed by a 250+lb dude and be absolutely correct when we think ‘that guy has to be gay.’

I think this could be described as a “One Trick Pony”, but I could be wrong, maybe his entire ‘appeal’ is not soley based on gayness. So now all the Ram decisions will be scrutinized and catagorized by non professionals. Great.
Every butt slap will be debated.
This story needs proper treatment:
I hope she spends hundreds of millions on producing this worthy series.
A whole series about a guy who stands on the sideline?
This is going to be ENDLESSLY pimped.
And if your company refuse to advertise on it, you’ll be an OBVIOUS Homophbe and bigot!
See how this works?
Its’ working title is “The Tight End that Wasn’t”... Seriously, when this overhyped social experiment gets released before the season starts, she can lead the protests against his obviously bigoted coaches.
Now if that was about a mic’d Vince Lombardi or John McKay, from back in the day, I’d perhaps be interested.
“Every butt slap will be debated.”
And every time a butt slap isn’t bestowed on Sam in an obvious butt slapping situation.
Just think about the first openly gay MLB position player, maybe the most individually judged position in the big three pro-sports. It has to be coming down the line. There will be 4-6 discrete regular chances to judge if pitches inside are intentional and on account of his gayness, not to mention how the ump calls balls and strikes on him.
