Wasn’t a freighter with armament aboard part of the Benghazi story? Where was it bound for or coming from? Turkey?

Don’t go building no conspiracy theory on this, Mr. Congressman but

From http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/21/world/middleeast/cia-said-to-aid-in-steering-arms-to-syrian-rebels.html?pagewanted=all&_r=4&;

A small number of C.I.A. officers are operating secretly in southern Turkey, helping allies decide which Syrian opposition fighters across the border will receive arms to fight the Syrian government, according to American officials and Arab intelligence officers.

The weapons, including automatic rifles, rocket-propelled grenades, ammunition and some antitank weapons, are being funneled mostly across the Turkish border by way of a shadowy network of intermediaries including Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood and paid for by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, the officials said...

The Republican establishment half of the Uni/Government Party lets it be known they favor the “What difference does it make”
explanation.

I can see their concern. It has been to long, and the MSM is covering for the other side.

Not to mention I am willing to bet Hill has a few files on these guys. There is a huge risk of blowback, for little gain.

The select committee would be concentrate the efforts of Congress. NOthing looked worse than the multiple groups asking the same questions over and over.
Let’s get down to the nitty gritty. If they are trying to dethrone the ‘king’, they will lose. The opposition will circle the wagons and commence the scorched earth.

If House leadership are spooked it is because the investigation may reveal that they knew a lot more about it all along than they have let on, and were in collusion with Obama and Clinton the whole way.

Hell we do not know where the President was during the battle and who gave the order to stand down (the thought is to always to go to the sound of gunfire when Americans are in danger). The thought of the answering those two questions will drive the left nuts.

"...and it makes all of the other Republican led panels that dug into Benghazi seem like Keystone Kops. "

Now they are worried that they look like idiots for NOT finding anything before?

Morons should not have done a half-assed job before.

Investigate and find nothing new, and the committee looks like a bunch of tin-hatted obsessives. Investigate and uncover previously-hidden secrets, and it makes all of the other Republican led panels that dug into Benghazi seem like Keystone Kops.

LMAO- left wing nonsense...does anyone expect anything different from the far left??  if the GOP uncovers the BS lies of obama over Benghazi its their fault...

They have seen Trey Gowdy in action. They are aware of his record as a prosecutor.
We are seeing fear on both sides of the aisle.

Here we go again - taking a story from The Daily Beats that has comments from someone who is not the topic of the deal and we have a bunch of folks already saddle up on the shark.

From the Huffington Post on 13 May: Rogers tells MSNBC lawmakers "want to make sure that we get it right." He argues that people could be at risk if Congress doesn't get to the bottom of the Sept. 2012 attack in Libya that took the lives of four people, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

It seems like he wants to get it right, some detractors are stirring the brew, and some FR folks are drinking it.
