My daughter was born on Thanksgiving. We decided one year which happened to correspond to her Birthday to go to Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving dinner which was one of our worst experiences ever. We waited over an hour to get what we felt like was recycled food. We were then going to the movie “Dances with Wolves.” It was sold out. We decided to stop by K-mart with our teen age daughter and son and pick up some board games, meanwhile comparing ourselves to a popular TV show at the time. When we got separated in the store and a page for “Al and Peg Bundy” came over the intercom there was no doubt who it was.

Our local one is a zombie store. Like it was hit by a neutron bomb, no people inside.
The really weird part is that I go in there about once every 6 months and last week the place was beautifully stocked - lots of merchandise and nicely ordered.
Totally different than previously.

Very difficult to understand how they stay in business.

We go to Kmart still. A friend of ours is a manager of a local K Mart. A few years ago, before he became a manager...a car was parked for 2 weeks before someone discovered a dead body in it. Now, the store has been remodeled and the parking lot is patrolled by security. What a difference.

KMart is going the way of Ames Calder and Bradlee's. I hope it doesn't, how many flea markets can you have? Tampa has a lot.

I might have been wrong this time, but what about the other thousands of murders in IL over the years? Yeah. My “knee jerk” reaction could have easily been correct, and you know it. If you don’t know it, you need to be educated.

Gang bangers don’t shoot up K-Marts. They either flash mob them, or they shoot up the hood. A shooting in a store is just as likely to be perpetrated by a white guy. But your concern for my “education” is touching.....
