Maica was my beloved sister Mary. She was an amazing woman: a combination of compassionate NICU nurse, bold trans-oceanic sailor, brilliant and insightful thinker, award-winning needlework artist and wonderful big sister in a large family. We sought refuge in FreeRepublic during the late 90’s, lurking and Freeping the White House tour exit with Kristinn long before even registering. I will miss her in so many ways, reading her posts on FreeRepublic among them.
