+1. The Catholic church is the second biggest land owner in the US behind the Feds. Oh and they charge full freight for rent.

There is also no such thing as catholic charities. They expect payback for services.

Look, I’m not catholic bashing here, I’m simply pointing out a simple truth in how the Catholic Church has accumulated vast wealth and failed in its B biblical obligations to help the poor.

The Catholic Church claims to be the one true church founded by Jesus himself. Not only is that a lie, they fail to follow Jesus’ example where money is concerned. Thus my statement that the Catholic Church should lead by example and divest itself of all it’s ill gotten wealth and distribute it to the poor.

Lead by example or shut up. Is all I’m saying.

Not only will the Catholic Church NOT do it, neither will any of my detractors on this thread. I’ve issued a challenge to them directly, let’s see who steps up.

I will assume by "second biggest" you mean in land value, not acreage, where I don't think the Church is even in the running.

I don't know but I suspect most of the land the Church owns has a church or other religious buildings on it, and is "valuable" simply because it's centrally located in a city which has grown up around it.

A church building is only marginally useful for other purposes, so the get the full value from the land, you would have to tear down the churches and build office buildings or condos or something.

Would that really be in the best interests of the nation, the city in question, or even the poor?
