Despite assurances to the contrary, the IRS didnt destroy all of the donor lists scooped up in its tea party targeting and a check of those lists reveals that the tax agency audited 10 percent of those donors, much higher than the audit rate for average Americans, House Republicans revealed Wednesday.
Republicans argue that the Internal Revenue Service still hasnt come clean about the full extent of its targeting, which swept up dozens of conservative groups.
The committee uncovered new information indicating that after groups provided the information to the IRS, nearly one in 10 donors were subject to audit, Rep. Charles W. Boustany Jr., Louisiana Republican and chairman of the Ways and Means Committees oversight panel, told IRS Commissioner John Koskinen at a hearing Wednesday.
The abuse of discretion and audit selection must be identified and stopped, he said.
Mr. Koskinen didnt specifically address the accusations during the hearing, and the IRS didnt respond to a request for comment late Wednesday evening.
The revelation was made on the same day that the House voted on a nonbinding resolution asking the Justice Department to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the IRS targeting...

Keep in mind the Republican Establishment only exists to manipulate the tax code for the favor of their masters in the corporate world.
Nothing is going to change in the IRS, it is in the optimal interest of all parties EXCEPT the American wage earning taxpayers, to make sure that any and every expression of displeasure with the IRS be summarily crushed through lawfare and bureaucratic tsunamis.
The “flat tax” still lets Washington too much into the mix (THEY get to decide what our “flat tax” is, after all). A national sales tax on the other hand, where a couple of pennies for the Feds is added to the state sales tax you already pay, has a few major advantages: It’s COMPLETELY “fair” first of all, because it’s based on your personal buying power. Buy a new Mercedes, you’re paying more tax than the guy who buys a beater to get around town. It’s easy, because you just need to do a little finagling with your cash register software to get it done, and — maybe most of all — it provides an incentive for the federal government to actually WORK. When economic times are awesome, big bucks flow into the federal coffers; when times are rough, the feds just have to learn how to get by, or pass legislation that promotes job growth and business strength. The national sales tax is truly “free-market-based”

Sorry for the lengthy double-post!
Bump
It’s time for an American spring tied to traditional Constitutional concepts. We’ve moved pretty far away from then already. I’m willing to go to DC this summer.
Count me in on a march to the corruption capitol.
You think Obama is the only problem? How naive.
Boehner and McConnell are equally to blame because they will NOT lift a D*mn finger to investigate this.
I am very angry at the left, but I am more angry and livid at the evil GOPe letting all this slide.
Do you not understand that Boehner and McConnell are probably glad the Tea Party donors are being audited?
Albert Jay Nock was correct, Our Enemey, the State
The consolidation by both parties of State Power accumulating since Wilson and FDR is nearly complete.

so you are saying gop is coercing Obama to use the IRS to audit Republican and tea party donors. ridiculous. where is the evidence for that. Obama is the boss of the IRS .Obama is responsible for what the IRS does.
democrat President Woodrow wilson destroyed this country with the income tax in 1913. Wilson enabled the 16th amendment(income tax), the 17th (which destroyed the free republic) , federal reserve etc.
Byron King explains how the world were all living in today was essentially created by President Woodrow Wilson during his Presidency.

I guess you'll say the Republicans used a time machine and made Wilson and his democrat congress pass the 17th and 16th amendments too right.
This should be a hanging offense.
For real.
yep
What you don't seem to have is the intellectual honesty (because you are likely a GOPe Statist lover) to acknowledge the FACT that Boehner and McConnell are NOT AT ALL UPSET THE TEA PARTY HAS BEEN HARASSED BY THE IRS.
GOPe apologists on this site disgust me.
It is astounding how naive you are. Do you truly believe that Boehner and McConnell are on the side of the Constitution?
Boehner and McConnell like all those on the left, worship at the Alter of State Power.
when did I defend any GOPe you moron liar
Obama is the head of the IRS. you are blaiming the GOP for the IRS oppressing conservatives .where is the evidence is what i said. I said Obama is responsible for the IRS oppressing conservatives. you seem like an Obama apologist. Obama apologists disgust me
Huh? Where did state or imply such?
I stated they are probably glad Tea Party donors are being audited.
coercing?? LOL Please reread what I wrote.
Do you think that Boehner and McConnel will do more than give lip service to this report?
Boehner and McConnell desire the Tea Party to be destroyed -- do you think not?
when did I defend any GOPe you moron liar

I’m tired of people also blaming jarret, lerner, holder, gop anyone But Obama for what Obama does and is responsible for
very mature on you part....
Obama is the head of the IRS. you are blaiming the GOP for the IRS oppressing conservatives
Again, I never said that. However, the lack of a forceful response to the IRS abuses indicates that the GOPe (whom you seem to love to defend) are party responsible to the IRS actions -- simply because Beohner is failing in his duties to reign in the IRS.
you seem like an Obama apologist. Obama apologists disgust me
Apologist? LOL. thanks for the laugh. Please look through my posting history -- I never said a positive thing about our Marxist president.
Tell Rove hi!! It astounds me that so many believe the GOPe is anything but a rabid bunch of Statists.
Let's see how Boehner and McConnell react -- I guarantee nothing will come of this.
END THE IRS!
I never said one thing about the GOP establishment or GOPe (bohner, mcconel et al)
this a thread about OBAMA’S IRS oppressing conservative Americans . I said that Obama is the head of the IRS so Obama is responsible for this oppression. you take that as me defending the GOPe. ridiculous and insane. Obama is guilty.
Well, with a possible Republican win of Congress, and possibly retaking he White House in 2016, it’s time for major legislation overhauling our tax system, like a flat tax, or national sales tax, whatever it takes to hand thousands of IRS agents their pink slips. That’s one way to start cleaning out the leftist criminal organization. Make the IRS too small to carry out extortion and persecution of political enemies.
