Sen. Jay Rockefeller unloaded on lawmakers Tuesday, accusing some of blocking efforts to solve urgent problems during Barack Obama’s presidency “because he’s the wrong color.”
Rockefeller (D-W.Va.), who will retire at the end of the year, made his comments during a Senate Finance Committee hearing on transportation funding, saying he’s confounded by the “lack of will to keep ourselves from dropping into rivers and rolling over bridges that are no longer there.”
“It’s an American characteristic that you don’t do anything which displeases the voters, because you always have to get reelected here,” he added. “I understand part of it. It has to do with — for some, it’s just we don’t want anything good to happen under this president, because he’s the wrong color.”
Rockefeller’s tirade was sparked by the long-running dilemma over funding the trust fund that covers most of America’s federal transportation spending. Many lawmakers have ruled out a hike to its primary funding mechanism: the tax on gasoline....

His grandfather stole billions from the common folks by enforcing a monopoly on kerosene, then oil, at sky-high monopoly prices. If you didn’t cooperate (the trains that carried the oil), he’d knock you out of business. While John D did some good things (unlike this great-grandson) such as funding Williamsburg, he, like the green barons of today, made much of his money illegitimately.

What’s with this coordinate “Obama’s political foes are racists” agenda that has suddenly cropped up? First I read that Crist (former gov of FL) said it, now Rockefeller. It’s clearly coordinated talking point, possibly due of fear from recent polling. It’s just too facile to cry racism. Republicans generally don’t like the policies of Democrats and vice-versa. It’s that simple. To inject racism into it is cheap, unhealthy and unnecessarily divisive for the country. It will just harden hearts on both sides and increase resentment. I’m appalled by the leadership in this country. Only concerned for themselves.

Suddenly? The Big Government GOPe and the Dems are in bed together, and they have been pushing this meme since before Obama was elected the first time.
True, but this isn’t coming from some lacky on a political talk show. This is the second news story I’ve read today quoting a prominent politician. First Crist and now Rockefeller. Clearly there is a renewed agenda by Democratic leadership to push this line (again).

The old fart is just projecting his own feelings into his white guilt tirade for public sympathy and attention. Otherwise why else would he have said it in the first place. Sorry Mr. Rockefeller his race has nothing to do with how we feel about him. I could compile at least 10 pages of lies and deceptive tactics he’s used to overreach and infringe on constitutional rights, his poor leadership qualities, his very questionable past and the fact that he had his records sealed before he became president, the fake birth certificate, people that had dirt on him that are now dead, his claiming to be Christian to get elected and then we find out he’s a Muslim who’s hired Muslim Brotherhood to work in his administration then sent financial aid and weapons to terrorists that really aren’t allies, trying to grant illegals amnesty in exchange for votes, voter fraud, etc...i could go on for hours maybe days....

I don’t give a damn about him being half black, or half white for that matter, but I do care about him being all red.............that’s the color that bugs me.
You know something. This pretense that all disagreement with Obama is racism is already wearing thin.
I don’t think anyone buys it except the hard core low-information morons.
It’s already lost any sting.
It seems every leftist politician and some celebrities have taken up the theme that people only critize Obama or oppose his policies because of his color. Even The Oprah was hand wringing and whining about this a few weeks back.
They can’t defend Obama’s failed policies so this is what they have to work with, and it’s also the first instinct of many of them to play the race card at any opportunity.
