These people just aren't paying enough taxes! Obviously they need to pay more.

These people just aren't paying enough taxes! Obviously they need to pay more. But we don't have a national asset or property tax. We have an income tax.
In other words, people that actually work for a living will pay.

No because 99.9% would not be paying the taxes that they need to pay. Very few people who work would be paying them. These very wealthy billionaires want socialism than they should pay the socialist taxes that they are causing either by design, stupidity or greed.

So a newspaper from liberal Maine gets it but GOP elite doesn’t.
I’m beginning to think all this talk about immigration reform is all about keeping John McCain’s job.

I agree that they ought to but the federal government has no power to tax wealth. They instead have the power the tax income.
Rich Democrats count on the public not knowing the difference. It allows them to call for increased taxes on the rich while avoiding real tax increases on themselves.
Kerry and Buffet are good examples. How much would an increase in income taxes really hurt them? Not much.

Folks may not want to hear it but thats what illegal immigration does. So they go after amnesty. Legal immigration drives down wages far more than illegal immigration. We have brought in 29 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS since 1990.

we do need some immigration reforms
some that do have some support in Congress
and some that should not be supported in Congress but are supported by too many in Congress
the monster omnibus all encompassing “immigration reform” bills ARE attempts to make sure the worst changes, the most damaging changes get included
and when that meets resistance the claim is made that NOT getting any “immigration reform” bill is going to make the situation worse, when in fact, just as with the last “immigration reform” bill, many of the “reforms” WILL make things worse, not better

And that explains the paradox of why the wealthy supported the income tax amendment - and why Buffett "demands" that his income tax rate be raised.
Wealth is built by income. Taxing income virtually eliminates their competition by keeping the working classes working. The closer you get to them, the harder you have to work for each step of progress.

“How do we fight this Goliath?”
That’s the million dollar question. Once Americans stopped breeding peasants for the ruling class, they decided they’d simply import them. The charade became obvious when the same proponents kept pushing it despite (real) unemployment near 20%. The feudal lords need more peasants for their national manor, to feed them and buy at the company store...

Illegal immigration is a distraction from what is really going on. We have just had the two highest decades in legal immigration in US history. Legal immigrants vote Democrat by more than two to one. In 1970 one in 21 in this country was foreign born; today it is one in 8 the highest it has been in 90 years; and within a decade it will be one in 7, the highest in our history.
87% of the 1.1 million legal immigrants who enter annually are minorities as defined by the USG. By 2019 have of the children 18 and under will be minorities and by 2043 we will become a majority minority country.
