Is beating the French really something to celebrate? Who hasn’t beaten the French?

Actually, it wasn't a good victory for the Mexicans. The baattle was against the French Foreign Legion, and involved thousands of Mexicans vs ~50 Legionnaires. The entire French force was killed, with a couple captured. The Mexicans lost over 300 men, and another 300ish wounded.

You must be thinking about a different battle. The one that the Mexicans won on the fifth of May, 4000 Mexicans fought off 8000 French with fewer casualties. There was a different one later in the war

Alright; where are you getting your info on this conflict, or where can I read more? I continually get the revised we kicked butt version instead of the truth.
