It’s a ninety percent chance that the story is fake...but it adds certain elements to a different game if it were true.

First, the Saudis have these guys under a contract of sorts...so they don’t care who they fight. Second, there is open hostility over how Russia played out the Assad game and wound up President Obama into a no-move situation. Third, the Saudis owe nothing to Russia...or to the Ukraine, or to the EU. Fourth, the minute you say Chechen rebels....it stirs up a hornet’s nest with Russians. Fifth...if the Chechens did get back into this Russia episode....it harms Russian stability.

So I’m not betting on the story being true....but man, it would really change the whole strategy at work presently.

The problem initiating any war is that the moment you do the entire picture changes. The strategy you start with won’t last more than a month and then you either continuously adapt on the ground or you die. (That is the huge problem I see with how the US conducts a war now. It’s run by desk jockeys 12,000 miles away. So, not only does their strategy become obsolete their view is filtered through people who don’t want to tell them they’re failing.)

This seems crazy now but I have a feeling there are going to be a lot of “war tourists” on both sides in Ukraine. The question is what will happen when they start killing Russians. Putin isn’t going to enjoy getting some of his own irregular warfare medicine.

We have really never seen anything like this live stream and twitter war. Where the escalation will ends I think nobody knows at this point.

Your scenario is as good as anybody’s. And it looks to me that the Soddies keep working at exporting their own trouble makers. If they happen to have an axe to grind with someone else, like, oh, say, Russia I can see them spending money in that direction. But I still say the Mid east won’t settle down until the Soddy’s get their throats cut also.
